It was made official on Monday, August 17, 2009 that veteran entertainer Donny Osmond will appear on season 9 of Dancing with the Stars. The former teen idol has enjoyed a long and varied career in the entertainment industry beginning with his brothers, The Osmonds, on the Andy Williams Show at the age of six to his most recent run at the Las Vegas Flamingo with his sister Marie scheduled through October 2012.

Life and Career
After the musical journey with his brothers on the Andy Williams Show came to a close, Donny Osmond was one of the biggest "Cover Boy" pop stars for Tiger Beat magazine in the early 1970s. His first solo hit "Sweet and Innocent" vaulted his solo career in 1971. He went on to co-star with his sister Marie in their own television variety series, The Donny and Marie Show from 1976 - 1979. Osmond found success in Broadway musical theater throughout much of the 1990s with various productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Osmond then hosted several game shows in the early 2000s until his return to Broadway on September 19, 2006, in the role of Gaston in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He is currently headlining at the Flamingo Hotel with his sister Marie through October 2012.Donny Osmond appeared on Entertainment Tonight as a commentator covering his sister Marie's run as a contestant on season 5 of Dancing With the Stars in the Fall of 2007.
