The soundtrack to Donnie Darko was released on April 2, 2002 and the movie was released October 26, 2001. All of the songs from the album were written by Michael Andrews, except for the song "Mad World" which was written by Roland Orzabal (of Tears for Fears) and performed by Gary Jules.
