August 5, 2008: Federal agent Donald Pettit was off-duty when he was shot and killed during an argument outside a post office in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Pettit's 12-year-old daughter witnessed the shooting.
On August 6, 2008, authorities arrested 65-year-old James Patrick Wonder, and charged him with Pettit's murder. Wonder was caught at a dialysis center near Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
