Donald Kohn

  • Donald Kohn is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Governors for the U.S. Federal Reserve. He joined the Board in 2002 and is scheduled to end his term in 2016. In January of 2009, Kohn testified that the second half of the $700 billion U.S. Government bailout, funds stored in the Troubled Assets Relief Program, or TARP, should be used to purchase troubled assets from banks, a plan which he and Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke believe would aid in reducing home foreclosures and help to stabilize the credit and financial systems.WSJ.com: Fed's Kohn Says Rest of TARP Should Aid Banks (January 13, 2009)
