Don Young

Republication Don Young is Alaska's sole representative in the U.S. House of Representatives. Young is a widower who was born on June 9, 1933 in Meridian, CA. He makes his home in Fort Yukon, AK. He has two children. Biography

Before being elected to the House, Young served as a Senator to the Alaska State Senate (1970-1973), Representative to the Alaska State House of Representatives (1966-1970), as well as Mayor of Fort Yukon (1964-1966).http://www.votesmart.org/bio.php?can_id=26717 When first elected to the House in 1973, he was named “Freshman Congressman of the Year” after finding himself leading the battle for approval of the Trans-Alaskan Pipeline.http://donyoung.house.gov/Biography/
