Don Wakamatsu is a former Major League Baseball catcher and current manager of the Seattle Mariners. Career
Originally selected as the last pick in the 1984 MLB draft, Wakamatsu decided to return to Arizona State University. He entered the draft again in 1985 and was chosen by the Cincinnati Reds. In his major league career, Wakamatsu played a total of 18 games, all for the White Sox in 1991. He played in the minor leagues from 1985 to 1996.
After his playing career, Wakamatsu managed teams in the minors and was an assistant for several teams in the major leagues. Wakamatsu was hired by the Seattle Mariners in 2008 and will serve as manager beginning with the 2009 season.
