  • Brief Biography:

    Don Shula started his NFL career as a player. He played for three organizations from 1951-1957. He later became a coach making his debut at the University of Virginia in 1958. He went on to coach the 1960 Detroit Lions as the defensive coordinator. He attained the head coach job in Miami in 1970 following a seven-year stint as the head coach in Baltimore. Shula went on to become a legendary coach because of his work from 1970 to 1995 with the Dolphins .
