Don DeLillo is an American postmodern novelist, screenwriter and playwright.
Career
Don DeLillo, one of the foremost standard-bearers of the literary Postmodern movement, considers non-literary elements like abstract expressionism, foreign films, and jazz music primary influences on his work. He often satirizes academia, the media, and the shifting role of the artist at the turn of the century. Noted literary critic Harold Bloom places DeLillo with Thomas Pynchon, Philip Roth, and Cormac McCarthy as one of the four major American novelists of our time.
