Dominique Franks is an American cornerback. He was born October 8th, 1987 to his mother Thelma Martin. He played his High School football for Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. While playing for Union HS, he was names Tulsa World Oklahoma Player of the year and named first-team all-state. In his senior year Dominique Franks was runner-up for state defensive player of the year and was considered by the Scout.com to be the No. 15 ranked cornerback nationallyhttp://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1123662. He finished his senior year with seven interceptions, including three returned for touchdowns.
Franks was recruited to play his College football with the Oklahoma Sooners. He started every game in his Sophomore and Junior seasons, excelling so much in his Junior year that he decided to forgo his Senior year in favor of entering the 2010 NFLDraft.
In The NFL
Franks was drafted in the fifth round, 135th overall, of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Atlanta Falcons. Franks has been projected by some to be a second round pick, but fell to the fifth round as draft weekend went by. Franks is unlikely to challenge for a starting job in his first year, but may see playing time in Nickel or Dime formations. He'll also be given a chance during the pre-season to prove his worth as a punt and kick returner.
Dominique Franks 2009 Season
In his Junior season with the Soooners, Franks was named to the All-Big 12 first team, by the Big-12 conference coaches. He started all 13 games for Oklahoma, recording 42 tackles and two interceptions, one of which he returned 85 yards for a touchdown at Kansashttp://www.soonersports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/franks_dominique00.html. He also tied for second on the Sooners with five passes broken up, as well as being the first Sooner since Antonio Perkins in 2003 to have 100 punt return yards in a game when he had a 100-yard effort against Baylor.

Dominique Franks 2008 Season
Dominique Franks' Sophomore season at Oklahoma was his best statistically. He started all 14 games for Oklahoma, and solidified his position as a starting corner. In addition to recording four interceptions, one returned for a touchdown against Nebraska, he also led the team with ten pass deflections. Franks also led the Sooners defense with two touchdowns, including a 39-yard fumble return to go with the interception return.
