Dogster is a social networking site where pet owners create profiles for their dogs. Dog profile features include "Favorite Food," "Favorite Walk," and "Pet-Peeves." In addition to dog profiles, the site offers a variety of resources for canine lovers, including profiles of adoptable dogs, "Doggie Diaries," videos, and a searchable online pet care guide entitled, Dog Owner’s Manual: Operating Instructions, Troubleshooting, Tips, and Advice on Lifetime Maintenance. As of April 28, 2008, there were 388,916 dogs registered on Dogster. Similar sites include Uniteddogs.com and Fuzzster.com.

Company History
Dogster Inc., founded by CEO Ted Rheingold, launched the site in 2004, followed by a sister site, Catster. In 2006, the company received $1 million in investment, after a reported 13 straight months of profitability. Dogster Inc. makes money through premium memberships, advertising revenue and special events. -
