How it Works
Shelters upload information to the Dogs in Danger website (and are awarded $1 for each dog they list),Official Site: News where users can browse the listings and adopt a dog of their choosing. For those who can't adopt a dog of their own (or choose not to), Dogs in Danger accepts donations to keep their cause going.
Woman Adopted 27 Dogs
A woman who lost her dog and wanted to adopt another one came across the organization's Web site in 2008. She eventually adopted 27 dogs that were scheduled to be euthanized. Since neighbors complained about the noise and she found out that a law in her area only allowed for three dogs a person, she decided to give them up. She had found new homes for most of them on December 15, 2008, and was still searching for homes for two dogs.Reno Gazette-Journal: Sparks woman saves two dozen dogs... (December 15, 2008)
