  • Dog kennel training, or crate training, is a method of training a puppy or dogs by giving them a safe and secure place to retreat to while you are away. Kennel training is also an easy way to potty train your puppy.
  • Tips

    1. Choose a kennel/crate that's big enough to house your puppy comfortable, making sure there is adequate room for him to stand up and turn around.
    2. If your puppy or dog is reluctant to enter the kennel don't rush it, leave the door to the kennel open for him to explore on his own.
    3. The kennel should be your dog or puppy's "safe place". Never use the kennel as a form of punishment.
    4. Give you dog or puppy time in the kennel while you are home, this way he doesn't associate it with being left alone.
    5. Most kennels/crates offer water dishes that clip to the sides. If your dog or puppy in kenneled for an extended length of time, make sure you offer water.
