    Colorado Springs authorities have reported that Chapman and a bail bondsman were shot at while they attempted to apprehend a man who has been charged with murder.     In 1977, Dog Chapman, former gang member, was convicted to five years in prison for the first degree murder of Jeremy Oliver. Chapman's career as a bounty hunter began years later when a judge offered to pay his child support if Chapman captured a fugitive. In 2004, Chapman was offered his own reality show. The show followed Chapman and his associates chasing down criminals as well as their private lives. The show was put on hiatus in October of 2007 after the National Enquirer obtained an audio tape of Chapman repeatedly using a racial slur in a conversation with his son, Tucker.

  • Taxes

    TMZ.com reported on February 15, 2009, that Chapman owes the IRS more than $2 million in back taxes. Chapman's accountant claims that Chapman has paid most of that amount and is trying to clear up the matter with the IRS.TMZ: "Dog" Chapman-Lien on Me (February 15, 2009)
