• Doctor Doom is one of the most fearsome and powerful villains in the Marvel Universe. He is the archnemesis of the Fantastic Four, appearing frequently in the teams comic book. He has also appeared in cartoons and films based on the same characters.

• The Mask of Doom

  Doctor Doom's mask, part of his armor, serves various purposes. Doom engineered the mask as part of his helmet, which of shields him from physical and psychic attacks. Its true purpose, however is to hide his face, which was horribly scarred in failed experiment that attempted to contact his dead mother. Reed Richards, Mr. Fantastic of the Fantastic Four, warned him it would fail; this laid the seed of Doom's hatred of the Fantastic Four, especially Richards.

• The Tools of Doom

  Though the most salient element at Doctor Doom's disposal is his suit of armor, he employs other weapons and tricks in his fight for world domination. He is among the world's most brilliant scientists, and has used various gadgets and devices over the years. He is also a skilled practitioner of magic. His most insidious tool is his army of Doombots exact robot replicas of himself.
