Former NBA player Doc Rivers is the head coach of the Boston Celtics. After playing for 13 seasons, Rivers began his coaching career with the Orlando Magic in 1999.

NBA Career
Prior to playing in the NBA, Rivers represented Team U.S.A. in the 1982 FIBA World Championship. He helped the team win the silver medal and was selected as the MVP of the tournament.NBA.com: Doc Rivers
The next year, Rivers was drafted 31st overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA draft. After eight seasons with the Hawks, Rivers spent one season with the Los Angeles Clippers and two with the New York Knicks.
