Felix "Doc" Blanchard was a legendary college football player who played with the Army Black Knights football team and won the Heisman Trophy, as the top college football player, in 1945.

Football Career
After starting his career with the North Carolina Tar Heels football team in 1942, Blanchard played NCAA football for the Army Black Knights from 1944 to 1946. He recorded 38 touchdowns and 1,908 yards in his three seasons, playing fullback, linebacker and kicking for the Black Knights, leading the team to a 27-0-1 record. Their only imperfect game came as a 0-0 tie against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 1946. Mr. Inside and Mr. Outside
Blanchard played alongside Glenn Davis, creating what was called the most honored backfield combination in college football. Military Career
Blanchard was selected third overall in the 1946 NFL draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. However he never made it to the National Football League as he had to complete his military obligation.
