  • The DKM Kormoran was a German naval cruiser commissioned to disrupt merchant vessels during World War II. The Kormoran sank after a 1941 battle with the Australian cruiser HMAS Sydney.
  • Discovery

    The Kormoran was discovered on March 14, 2008, during an Australian search for the Sydney wreckage. The wreck is located 300 miles off of Shark Bay. The Sydney was discovered the next day, and both ships have been declared war graves.
