  • DJ Quik is a West Coast Rapper and record producer from Compton, California. He is currently performing with rapper AMG under the name, The Fixxers.
  • Career

    DJ Quik's began selling mixtapes after 9th grade and performed as a DJ in the Los Angeles Area after receiving turntables as a graduation present. By 1990, Profile Records signed him as a producer and a rapper and his first album, Quik Is the Name, was released in 1991. It was a commercial success and ended up selling over 1 million copies behind the strength of the singles Tonite and Born and Raised in Compton. His second album, Way 2 Fonky followed a year later, achieving gold status. He remained active in the late 90s, releasing a new album every few years, but he was never able to repeat the success of his first two records as a solo artist. As a producer, Quik worked on many popular songs with high profile artists such as Tupac Shakur, Whitney Houston, Ludacris and Snoop Dogg. His most recent work was the single Can You Werk Wit Dat as part of the Fixxers and he is currently working with the production group Quik-Dogg-Teddy alongside Teddy Riley and Snoop Dogg.
