The game features songs from artists like Justice, the Jackson 5, Prodigy, Lady Gaga, Rhianna and Deadmau5. There are remixes, mashups and original mixes available to play. In order to finish songs in the game, players must follow on-screen shapes and colors then hit corresponding buttons on a controller or DJ Hero peripheral. The songs featured in the Mahalo video are "Human Beat Box" by The Fat Boys and "King of the Beats" by Mantronix. "Human Beat Box" first appears on a best-of sampler released by the group, called The Best Part of the Fat Boys.
