DJ AM, who's real name is Adam Goldstein, was an entertainment DJ and a former member of the band Crazy Town. He passed away on August 28, 2009. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, and had performed regularly with Travis Barker of Blink 182 while appearing on MTV's Punk'd and Video Music Awards.

On September 19, 2008, DJ AM was critically injured in a plane crash. Both he and Travis Barker were on board a Learjet that crashed in South Carolina after a performance.

In December 2008, DJ AM filed suit against the pilots of the Learjet that crashed in September 2008, of which he was a passenger. DJ AM claims that the pilots, Sarah Lemmon and James Bland, "negligently aborted takeoff" causing the plane to crash. Both pilots perished in the crash. During the takeoff of the airplane, a tire reportedly ruptured. The pilot was notified of this problem within the cockpit, and apparently decided to abort the takeoff.
