Dixie Stampede is a "Dinner and Show Extravaganza" that was founded in 1988 by Dolly Parton in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Today there are three locations; the original in Pigeon Forge, one in Branson, Missouri, and a third location in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Dolly Parton opened the first Dixie Stampede next to her Dollywood theme park, wanting to "recreate the family fun of her childhood, when she and her family would gather for a friendly competition and enjoy a more-than-filling meal." There are three Dixie Stampede locations in the U.S., each one featuring dinner and a show with 32 horses, live buffalo, ostrich races, magic performances, and dozens of cast members. Prices and showtimes vary by season and seat location. Adult tickets are available for those ages 12 and older, and child tickets can be purchased for children ages 4 to 11.
