Lawsuit
The Dixie Chicks and Natalie Maines were sued for defamation by a man named Terry Hobbs in Arkansas in early December 2008. Hobbs' 8-year-old stepson along with two other boys were murdered in 1993, three teens were convicted. Hobbs claims that "he has lost income" and that his reputation has been damaged due to Maines' continuous insinuations that he played a role in the murders, even though he was never charged or implicated. Hobbs stated, "Maines' claims are so extreme in degree as to be ... atrocious and utterly intolerable."TMZ: Maines Sued for Loud Mouth (December 5, 2008)
