Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is a 56 acre tropical water park situated at the Walt Disney World resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, just outside of Orlando. As the storm raged, boats were hurled onto beach huts, surfboards into palm trees and a shrimp boat wound up atop Mt. Mayday, a volcanic mountain. Every half hour, Mt. Mayday transforms into a gushing geyser as Miss Tilly's whistle blows.

Other attractions include slides, a river with rapids, and an artificial saltwater coral reef stocked with tropical fish for snorkeling, a shark pool, a surf pool for body surfing, surfing school, restaurants, picnic areas, quick eateries, and shops for gifts & sundries. Admission for adults is $24 and $18 for children of ages 3-9. Lockers are available for $3 (large for $5) plus a $2 key deposit. Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is open approximately 11 months out of the year with a breif closure in the winter for maintenance. To find out when the closure takes place, call 407)824-4321.
