The Jungle Book and its sequel The Jungle Book 2 are Disney animated films based on the 'man cub' character Mowgli and his adventures in the jungles of India. Both films are adaptations of stories from Rudyard Kiplings' fictional work entitled The Jungle Book.

Plot
The Jungle Book follows the life of a 'man cub', named Mowgli who was left as a baby in the jungles of Madhya Pradesh, India. He is found by a panther, Bagheera, who takes him to a mother wolf who has just had cubs. She raises Mowgli along side her cubs. When the jungle animals find that a man-eating tiger, Shere Khan has returned, they attempt to send Mowgli to a near-by village to protect him. Mowgli does not want to go and is determined to stay in the jungle, until he is taken to the edge of the village and sees a young girl. -
