Kali River Rapids is a flume river rafting style ride, set in Asia along the Chakranadi River. Located in the Asia area of the Animal Kingdom theme park, at the Walt Disney World Resort, Kali River Rapids opened in March of 1999.

The ride down the Chakranadi River lasts approximately five minutes, as riders board rafts, that carry them along the turbulent waters of the river. The attraction makes reference to illegal logging practices and conservation, taking riders through lush green landscapes, before they enter into an illegal logging operation that has devastated the area and created dangerous conditions for the once peaceful river tour.http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/animal-kingdom/attractions/kali-river-rapids/

Kali River Rapids has been categorized as a “Mild but Wild” ride, restricted to guests 38 inches or taller. Before boarding, guests pass through the queue, set outdoors in a series of temple ruins. Guests can hear chainsaws sounding in the distance, remarking upon illegal logging. Riders then enter a boathouse, where the owner of Kali Rapids Expeditions greets guests via a television screen. She welcomes them to take in the beautiful landscapes, and warns against loggers illegally cutting down trees in the area.

Guests enter into a pagoda, adorned with Tibetan prayer flags. There, they board 12-seater rafts. Upon departing from the loading area, the rafts enter onto a 90-foot climb on a lift, as they pass through ginger and jasmine scented mist. Once the rafts reaches the peak, it begins its ride along the Chakranadi River, passing a waterfall and lush greenery. The raft unexpectedly enters into an illegal logging area, and the water becomes turbulent. The riders become surrounded by downed trees, and tree stumps, before traveling down a drop. The ride continues to travel along the river, passing a series of waterfalls and statues, that stream water towards the rafts. The raft passes through a cave, before traveling under a wooden bridge and another series on statues that stream water towards guests.
