Disneyland Dream 1956

  • In July of 1956, the Barstow family of Wethersfield, Connecticut, won a trip to the newly opened park, Disneyland, located in Anaheim, California. They won a trip after they entered a nationwide 3M Scotch Tape contest.

Robbins Barstow made a 30-minute documentary on the family's trip. This documentary is just one of eight that Barstow filmed on his families travels. During the video the family can all be seen in 1950's Wild West fringe jackets with their names embroidered between their shoulders.

Barstow began making documentary films in the 1930s when he made a Tarzan film starring his brothers and himself.

The video has had over 15,000 views at the Archives.org site.
