Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice Walkthrough Introduction
- Skipping classes and performing poorly on exams are the keys to success at the Maritsu Evil Academy. Mao, the school's highest honor student plans to overthrow his father, the Devil, to claim the title of Overlord. Since it is a well known fact that heroes always defeat devils, Mao decides to become a Hero to unseat his father. When his fellow student Raspberyl, the school's #1 delinquent due to her penchant for doing homework, learns of his plan, she decides to claim her own title and stop him.
- Basics
- Keep characters with high HP in front of characters with low HP.
- Use team attacks to gang up on enemies whenever possible.
- It is better to completely eliminate one enemy than to injure two.
- Always attempt to lure enemies so you have first strike capability.
- Purchase new equipment as money allows.
- Upgrade skills and Evilities with the accumulation of Mana.
- Level up at least 3-5 main characters to be successful with the game, especially Mao and the other story characters. Generic characters are not as important.

-
Chapter 1: Netherworld Honor Student
- TIP: Begin this chapter and each subsequent chapter by searching for any chests in the surrounding area.
- NOTE: Contents of the chests are randomly generated.
- Begin the game by taking control of Mao next to Chest #1.
- Head down stairs to the pencil platforms behind the Skill Shop and locate Chest #2.
- Jump over the Hospital wall and locate Chest #3 on the ledge below.
- Locate the door in the Main Hall on the back of the Prinny statue before starting Stage 1. Check it nine times for an ABC Gum.
- Speak to Geoffrey at the Dimensional Gate when you are ready to begin.
- Stage 1-1: Tutorial 1
- Enemies: Pvt. Prinny (x4), Vato Bros. (x1)
- NOTE: This tutorial teaches the workings of the game battle system and controls.
- Send your whole team with Mao to successfully take care of the Prinnies and Vato Bros. to complete this stage.
- TIP: Focus attacks on one enemy at a time to inflict more damage.
- Stage 1-2: Tutorial 2
- Enemies: Eryngi (x4), Vato Bros. (x1)
- NOTE: This tutorial teaches lifting and throwing.
- Kill the four Eryngis.
- Get to the Vato Bros. on top of the stack of boxes.
- TIP: While the tutorial suggests building a staircase to teach you about lifting and throwing, it is easier to have your Red Mage hit the Vato Bros. with some Fire spells to take care of him.
- Stage 1-3: Tutorial 3
- Enemies: Green Slime (x4), Vato Bros. (x1)
- NOTE: This tutorial teaches about Geo Effects and Geo Chains, allowing you to use two methods to kill the enemies.
- Method 1: Follow the tutorial and kill the enemies by manipulating the Geo Effects. Throw the green Geo Block on the green panels and move your teammates on the green panels to attract the enemies to them.
- Method 2: Use a Geo Chain to kill all of your enemies by throwing the green Geo Block on the blue panels and attacking. This earns a bonus prize.
- Stage 1-4: Practice Map
- Enemies: Pvt. Prinny (x4)
- NOTE: This stage is optional, but earns extra EXP.
- Toss the Geo Blocks on to the blue panels.
- Build a Geo Chain.
- Toss the Exp +50% block onto the blue panel between the red block and the green panels.
- Destroy the green block to start the chain.
- TIP Use a long range attack so you are not standing on the panels when you destroy the green block.
- Stage 1-5: Strongest Entrance
- Enemies: No. 1 Delinquent (x1), Raspberyl's Lackey (x2), Hero Wannabe (x1)
- Head to the Classroom to create some Green and Blue Mages prior to starting this stage.
- Check each of your enemies to learn their elemental resistances.
- Select the appropriate mage to unleash either a Wind, Ice or Fire spell.
- TIP: Try to time spells to hit near the end of an attack combo for greater damage output.
- Take out Raspberyl first as she is the most powerful.
- Move your melee fighters close to her so she cannot get to your mages.
- Have you melle fighters attack while your mages hit her with Ice magic.
- Stage 1-6: Strongest Hallway
- Enemies: Catsaber (x6), Ghost (x1)
- TIP: The Catsabers are weak against Ice, and the Ghost is weak against Fire. Consequently, you will want to bring Blue and Red Mages to use on this level.
- Keep your enemies on the Blue panels for the EXP boost.
- Send your melee fighters to attack the Catsabers while you cast long-range magic spells.
- Once the Catsabers are disposed of, take care of the Ghost.
- Stage 1-7: Strongest Garden
- Enemies: Catsaber (x5), Mothman (x2)
- TIP: Enemies defeated on the new Geo Effect panel will drop a treasure chest.
- Keep your melee fighters in their current positions so the enemies stay on the Blue panels.
- Use a Blue Mage/Skull to take them out and reveal the chest.
- Use Wind Spells for long-range attacks against the Mothmen to quickly dispatch them.
- TIP: Don't waste your times pursuing the chests on the far side of the map. They contain the same treasure as that earned from Geo Effect rewards.
- Stage 1-8: Strongest Crossroad
- Enemies: Pvt. Prinny (x5), Petite Orc (x3)
- Have one of your team not on a Geo Panel take out one of the Geo Blocks to remove all Geo Effects from the map.
- This also damages your enemies, making it easier for your team to defeat them.
- Take advantage of this map to do some leveling up. You can also return to it for more EXP and Mana before continuing to the next stage.
- Stage 1-9: Strongest Overlord
- Enemies: Pinky (x1), Ring Finger (x1), The Bird (x1), Index Finger (x1), Thumb (x1)
- Objective: Destroy the Strongest Overlord's five immobile fingers.
- TIP: Place your troops to avoid attacks.
- TIP: Focus on one finger at a time.
- TIP: Keep Mao's Star Body evility equipped.
- TIP: Do not leave the middle finger for last or its stats will double.
- Begin by using your fighters and bow users to target the Pinky, which has a high defense against magic.
- NOTE: The Pinky's stats increase by 5% for each character you bring into the battle.
- Target the Ring Finger once the Pinky is taken care of.
- NOTE: The Ring Finger also has a high resistance to magic, so use physical attacks against it as well.
- Move on to the Middle Finger (The Bird).
- Use Red Mages to burn it down as it is weak against Fire.
- Once the Middle Finger is disposed of, have Mao use Ice to take down the Index Finger.
- Then use Green Mages' Wind magic to destroy the Thumb before its Star magic causes much damage.
-
Chapter 2: Mao's Heart
- TIP: Begin by searching for any chests in the surrounding area.
- Find Chest #1 behind the notice board that the Wood Golem is in front of.
- Head down the stairs away from the Succubus. Follow the hallway of pencils to Chest #2 at the end.
- Rotate the camera to descend another set of stairs. Look for Chest #3 behind the Weapon and Armor Shops.
- Speak to Geoffrey when you are ready to begin the next set of tutorials.
- Stage 2-1: Tutorial 4
- Enemies: Green Slime (x3), Marionette (x2)
- NOTE: This tutorial teaches creation og Geo Chains with groups of Geo Blocks: If a Geo Block lands next to another block of the same color, all adjacent blocks of that color are destroyed.
- Toss the red Geo Block on top of a group of red Geo Blocks.
- Once the red blocks are cleared, destroy the Green Slimes and Marionettes.
- Stage 2-2: Tutorial 5
- Enemies: Thief (x6), Zombie (x1)
- NOTE: This tutorial focuses on Geo Block Chains.
- Toss the Geo Block from one character to another until it can start a chain with a stack of block.
- Get your Magic spells to +2.
- Stand off to the side so the Thieves do not move or attack.
- Blast them until they have all been killed.
- Now you are able to get 500 Mana by destroying all of the blocks.
- Stage 2-3: Tutorial 6
- Enemies: Lady Fighter (x3), Green Mage (x1)
- NOTE: This last tutorial focuses on learning that enemy damage is related to the number of blocks beneath them that are destroyed.
- Throw your one Geo Block at the pillar of blocks to start a Geo Chain.
- You are then able to access the enemies.
- NOTE: Lady fighters will be able to take on different amounts of damage based on the number of blocks under them that are destroyed.
- Clear out the Fighters and the Green Mage.
- Speak to the Archer across from the Ninja's Skill Shop.
- You will then be able to reach the Heart Bank.
- Go behind the merchants to find Chest #1.
- Continue down the slope on Pleinair's right side for Chest #2.
- Rotate the camera to find the hidden path between the Nurse and Weapon merchant to locate Chest #3.
- Stage 2-4: Childhood Memories
- Enemies: No. 1 Delinquent (x1), Raspberyl's Lackey (x2), Fighter (x3), Lady Fighter (x2), Healer (x1)
- NOTE: Bring teammates to this fight who can withstand Fire as well as having good long-range attacks.
- TIP: Stay on blocks that offer at least DEF +50% boost.
- TIP: Try to stay on yellow blocks while getting enemies off of them so they don't get a defense boost.
- TIP: Throw any enemies over yellow blocks off of them.
- Stage 2-5: Heart Vault
- Enemies: Heavy Knight (x4), Heretic (x2)
- Throw one of your team at the yellow Geo Blocks.
- Destroy the block to execute a Geo Chain to remove the enemy boost.
- Throw the red Geo Block onto the Geo Panels.
- Kill all of the Heretic Clerics so they cannot heal the Heavy Knights.
- Once all of the Clerics are taken care of, take care of the Heavy Knights with Wind magic and skills.
- TIP: Attack the Knights from behind or the sides to increase damage.
- After the Knights are taken care of, get the remaining chest on the Chained Heart by having a Mage stand on either side of the crates and hit it with a spell that will break it open.
- Stage 2-6: Dragon's Rest
- Enemies: No. 1 Delinquent (x1), Raspberyl's Lackey (x2), Fury Fatalist (x4), Wind Spinner (x2), Ghost (x1), Red Mage (x1)
- NOTE: Raspberyl and her Lackeys are now NPC allies, helping you attack the remaining enemies.
- Let her crew and enemies fight each other to diminish their HP.
- Join the fight at the end to deal the final blows.
- Earn EXP, HL, and Mana by taking out Raspberyl and her crew at the very end.
- Stage 2-7: Cooking Corridor
- Enemies: No. 1 Delinquent (x1), Raspberyl's Lackey (x2), War Cat (x4), Alraune (x2), Matango (x2)

- NOTE: Raspberyl et al join you one more time. You want to keep her alive this time to help with the multiple enemies on hand.
- Tower-throw Mao to take out the Catsaver and both Matangos with one hit.
- Use Blade Rush or Ice Magic.
- TIP: Attack the Cockatrices from a distance so they do not seal your skills.
- Once you have killed all of the enemies, the stage is over.
- TIP: Don't forget the Dragon's Egg in the corner.
- Stage 2-9: Grudgeful Memory
- Enemies: Marionette (x7)
- Throw the Aqua Geo to form a Geo Block Chain since you can only perform it on your first visit.
- TIP: You can always repeat the level to earn additional EXP from the many EXP +50% Blocks.
- On return trips, defeat all of the enemies on the Geo Blocks for bonus EXP or create a tower of Geo Blocks making sure that blocks of the same color don't touch.
- TIP: Build a stairway to the top block on these return trips to throw enemies.
- Stage 2-10: Heart Vault
- Enemies: Piece of Mind (x7)
- Send Mao alone into the Heart Vault as these enemies are weak against Ice Magic, Mao's specialty.
