On February 25, 2010 American Eagle Airlines announced that they will soon offer first class service on all CRJ-700 Jets. Each plane will have nine first class seats and the same premium service passengers have with American Airlines. First Class Seats
First Class seating differs from airline to airline, in both the options available, and the number and type of actual seats installed in the airplanes.
Types of First Class seats include:http://www.seatguru.com/charts/longhaul_first_class.php
- Recliner Seats - recline somewhat, but not to a significant angle
- Lie-Flat Seats - recline more than recliner seats, but less than the flat bed seats, even though some airlines advertise them as 180 degree incline. Passengers have found them to not be comfortable for sleeping, but adequate for working or relaxation.
- Flat Bed Seats - recline to a full 180 degree flat position. Passengers found them to be comfortable for sleeping.
- Suites - these are typically flat bed seats in their own room with a workstation and television.
The different types of seats are found on those planes that have long-haul first class, rather than short-haul. Short-haul seating is much closer to what one would find in business or coach. Improvements in short-haul first class sections can include 5-7 inches more legroom and 2 inches more width in the seats.http://www.seatguru.com/charts/shorthaul_first_class.php Additional improvements in long-haul first class over long-haul business or coach can include an additional 10-30 inches of legroom (for the seats to recline), 1-2 inches of extra width in the seats themselves, more incline in the seats, electric seat controls, and many extra amenities, such as power ports, pajamas, slippers and premium food and wine service.http://www.seatguru.com/charts/longhaul_first_class.php
