Nowitzki was selected as the 2007 NBA MVP. He is widely considered one of the best players in the game today with his 7'0" frame, and his impressive outside shooting touch, he is often referred to as a point guard in a center's body. Tutored by Holger Geschwindner at the age of 16 years old, he played for four years with DJK Wurzburg, a local German team. With the ninth pick in the NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks drafted Dirk Nowitzki, but then traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. After a slow start, and an adjustment to the NBA game, Nowitzki has become a seven-time All-Star, and seven-time All-NBA player.
