DIRECTV

DirecTV is a satellite television service provider. It provides access to cable TV channels to its customers by providing them with satellite dishes that receive a digital stream of data from a network of satellites.

DirecTV provides its satellite television service to home consumers and business consumers alike with service packages designed for home users or public venues like sports bars, restaurants, and hotels. It services most parts of North and South America with both digital satellite TV and XM Satellite Radio programming.

DirecTV, like most other satellite TV providers, did not initially offer video on demand services do to technical limitations in satellite technology. However, in March of 2008, DirecTV launched DirecTV on DemandCrave: DirecTV takes on video-on-demand, a video on demand service that allows customers to view movies, TV shows, and other video content.
