Diplo is an American DJ and electronic music producer based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is strongly influenced by his childhood homes throughout the southern United States, and incorporates characteristically southern music styles into his music. But in general, he mixes many different styles of hip-hop, pop and electronic music. He is closely linked with M.I.A., and is often credited for popularizing the Brazilian baile funk musical style in the United States.
