Didrex (Benzphetamine) is a weight loss drug meant to be used in the short term management of obesity. It is closely related to amphetamines.

1. Drug class: Sympathomimetic
2. Mechanism of action: By ramping up the sympathetic system, appetite is suppressed
3. Has a similar action as amphetamines
4. Contraindications: arteriosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, glaucoma, History of drug abuse
5. Common Side Effects: Restlessness or tremor, anxiety or nervousness, headache or dizziness, insomnia, dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your mouth, diarrhea or constipation, or impotence or changes in your sex drive
