The Dickies 500, held annually in Fort Worth, Texas on the first weekend in November, is a NASCAR Spring Cup Series stock car race.
Background
The inaugural race of the Dickies 500 took place on November 6, 2005. The race was an outcome of the controversial Ferko lawsuit, which forced NASCAR to relinquish their Mountain Dew Southern 500.
The Dickies 500 was featured in the 2006 film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, although it was filmed at the Lowe's Motor Speedway and made to look like the Texas stadium.
