A diaper disposal system, or diaper pail is used to store soiled diapers until disposable diapers can be thrown away or cloth diapers can be washed. There are a large variety of diaper pails available to consumers. They may look much like a bucket with a lid, a trashcan or look more modern. Many contain an area to be able to put a deodorizer to help the reduce smells. For the ease of use, many offer foot pedals for the lid to open or allow for easy drop in.

Diaper Pails and Cloth Diapering
In the past it was believed that cloth diapers should be stored in a wet bucket, allowing the urine and feces to soak in water until able to be washed. After more research had been completed, it was found that there was no need to place soiled diapers into water to soak. This gave the ability for germs and diseases to spread. Cloth diaper users are encouraged to ensure all solid waste has been removed from the diaper and then place the diaper(s) in a dry pail until they are able to be washed. -
