Diahann Carroll

Diahann Carroll is an award-winning actress and singer. She was born in The Bronx, New York.

Carroll was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for Claudine in 1974. She appeared in the popular prime time soap Dynasty in the Eighties, and her title role in the 1968 show Julia broke ground for African-American actresses by presenting her lead character as a nurse rather than a domestic worker.
