Diageo is the world's largest spirits, wine and beer producer. It began in 1997 when the Guinness and GrandMet companies combined their portfolios of mainly alcoholic beverages. Today it distributes some of the most recognizable name brand beverages in the world. Their name, from the Latin word for day (dia) and the Greek word for world (geo), indicates the frequency with which people all over the globe consume something from their vast product line.
