Desperate Housewives is an ABC television drama series that premiered in the United States in October of 2004. The show has now aired for six complete seasons, and there were a total of 23 episodes this past season. The latest of these episodes, the 2010 season finale, aired May 16th. Desperate Housewives takes place on Wisteria Lane in the fictional town of Fairview. The show tracks the lives of several neighborhood women, drawing upon the dramatic and seemingly chaotic aspects of relationships, raising children, and everyday life. There are also many comedic elements about each character's life that are outlined in the show as well. In the first and second seasons of Desperate Housewives, the stories were told from the perspective of the womens' dead friend and neighbor Mary Alice, who had previously committed suicide.

The premiere episode of the series began with Mary Alice talking about her own life and the happenings on Wisteria Lane. She contended that many of the secrets that these women held inside and the pressure that they often felt from outside sources and gossiping neighbors was what ultimately led her to her fate. In addition, she shares some of the secrets and "dirty laundry" of the other women of the neighborhood in many of her monologues.

Later, the storytelling of Mary Alice is dropped from the show, but her character is not forgotten. Viewers are allowed to see the actions and events of each character's life for themselves and draw their own conclusions based on what is already known from previous episodes.

The 2010 season finale of Desperate Housewives begins by showing nurse Theresa Pruitt in the hospital. She once worked at the Fairview hospital. Prior to her death, she confesses to a priest that she switched some babies in Fairview at birth years ago. We know that this is going to be the babies of either one or two of the moms on Wisteria Lane, but the show does not disclose which babies were actually switched. It is speculated that this will be given in the first episode of season seven.

6:57 Bree tells Orson that she is signing her business over to Sam. She claims that it is the only way to protect her son from the secret that Sam knows and keep him out of prison. Earlier in another season of the show, Andrew hit Mrs. Solis, Carlos' mother, with his car and drove off. She was killed instantly. Andrew says he just wants to tell the Solis family and do the right thing. Orson is outraged because in a similar incident, it was Bree that told him he should confess and go to jail for what he had done. Now, she is trying to protect her son by keeping him out of trouble. Orson tells Bree that she is not the woman that he thought she was. He tells her that he is leaving her.

9:04 Gabriel puts on an act by pretending to be Angie, manipulates a nurse on duty at the Fairview hospital, and sneaks into a hospital room to see Nick. He is awakened from his coma, and Gaby drives him home, where the two of them plot how to save Angie and Danny from Patrick.

10:37 Patrick tells Angie that she has to build a bomb for him. He says he is taking her with him to Oregon to detonate the bomb, and if the bomb does not go off as planned, then he is coming back to kill Danny.

11:20 Susan and Mike have a garage sale to eliminate some extra things before they move out of their old house. Karen and Roy offer to pay Susan $100 for a stuffed dinosaur toy that belonged to MJ. However, Susan finds this notion excessive and tells them that they can have it for the original price of fifty cents.

13:04 Eddie realizes that he doesn't want to hurt Lynette, since she has been so kind to him. He tells her that he is going to drop her off in a remote location so that she cannot call the police right away. However, Lynette informs him that there is no way that she can go anywhere and that her water just broke. She tells Eddie that he will have to help her deliver her baby. Eddie is scared, but reluctantly helps. The cord is wrapped around the baby's neck, and Lynette tells Eddie that this is his opportunity to save a life instead of take one away. He unwraps the baby's neck, and it is safely delivered. Eddie starts to leave, but Lynette stops him. In an earlier episode, Eddie told Lynette that is she were his mother, he would have never turned out to be a serial killer. Lynette tells Eddie that she can be his mother now. She convinces him to turn himself in by pointing out that his life is already an eternal prison.

16:50 MJ comes to Susan asking about his stuffed dinosaur toy. Susan realizes that she sold it in the garage sale by mistake. She goes to Karen and Roy and asks if she can buy it back, but they tell her that they have already given it to a nephew who is deaf. Susan tells MJ that he will just have to deal with it, that it is "life." Mike realizes that Susan is actually upset with him because they cannot keep the house where she has raised her kids. He assures her that they will get the house back.

33:04 Gaby talks Susan into going over to tell Angie goodbye. Angie comes to the door as Patrick keeps her at gunpoint off to the side. While Susan talks to Angie at the door, Gaby sneaks into an upstairs window to rescue Danny.

44:15 Patrick tells Angie to tell Danny, who is tied to a chair in the other room, goodbye. He tells her that he is placing the bomb in the trunk of the car, but he actually hides it in a hall closet inside of the house. He drives Angie to the site where he intends to detonate the bomb that Angie built. Holding the detonator in his hand, he asks Angie about the range of it. He tells her that she then has 30 seconds to save Danny. As Angie runs away, she turns to tell Patrick that the bomb was actually inside the detonator, and waves goodbye just before the car that Patrick is still in explodes.

Following the incident with Patrick, the Bolen family has plans to leave town yet again. Angie is worried that the FBI is still looking for them. Danny is the only one on a bus for New York. Nick tells Angie that it is time to let her live her life and that she can finally stop running.

Susan tells all of her girlfriends goodbye, promising that she will continue to see them every week. As they are leaving, Lee has already secured a new renter for Susan's house. No one in the neighborhood knows yet that the new renter is a familiar face. Paul Young thinks that everyone on Wisteria Lane will be very surprised to see him again.
