The season four finale of Desperate Housewives aired on Sunday May 18, 2008. The finale was two hours long and featured two episodes, "The Gun Song" and "Free".

In the cliffhanging episodes residents of Wistoria Lane receive deadly threats. Susan realizes that she will lose someone she loves when her daughter goes off to college. Katherine Mayfair shoots and kills Ellie and then her secrets are revealed.

The end of the episode shows the woman playing poker five years later. At the end of the game they return to their homes.

Gabby is shown with two daughters who are possibly adopted. Lynette's children are wild and out of control. Her son Preston was arrested for breaking into a car. Bree is back together with Orson and has a cookbook coming out. Dylan, Katherine's daughter is engaged. Susan is no longer with Mike Delfino.
