Carbon Fibre Chassis
The Ducati Desmosedici GP9 differs from its competitors as it features a carbon fibre chassis, rather than the standard steel trellis chassis. It is the only superbike with a carbon fibre chassis used on the MotoGP racing circuit. As carbon fiber is much less dense than steel, it is lighter, allowing the designers more flexibility with the aerodynamic aspects of the design while staying in the same weight range.
