  Hatchett, who works a minimum-wage job, cannot afford the child support payments for all 21 children, which range from $25 to $309 each per month. As the government is only permitted to take up to 50% of his pay for support payments, once the funds are split, some of his offspring receive only $1.98 each month.   He appeared in a Knox County Court in late May of 2009 to answer to 11 cases for 15 of his children. Hatchett told the press that he didn't intend to have so many children or set a record of any kind, but does know the names and ages of all 21 children.
