Desmond Dekker

Desmond Dekker was a popular Reggae/Ska Singer and Songwriter who shot to fame (along with his backing group The Aces) in the 1960s and 70s to become one of the most recognized Jamaican musicians in the world. While he is perhaps best known for his international hit song "The Israelites" in 1969, he had a number of hits songs and albums throughout his career and is often considered to be one of the pioneers of modern Reggae music. He died at his home in 2006 due to a heart attack.
