2009 Trends
Prom dresses come in all shapes and sizes. However, shop owners have noticed a few trends that have taken place of the last few years and leading up to 2009. While costs for simple prom dress can be as little as $100, prices for designer prom dresses can be $600 or more - quite an investment in troublesome economic times. As an alternative to purchasing outright, some shops offer to put the dress on layaway and they are seeing an uptick in the number of clients willing to go that route. Overall styles for 2009 are trending away from the Cinderella look and more towards the short, glamorous and glitzy celebrity look.News-Gazette: Prom-dress trends... (April 12, 2009)

Quote
"The problem with a department store prom gown is that they are made for everyone; be they petite, full-figured, tall or short. They are made for all. The best designer prom dresses are designed with the individual in mind. Top designers aren't interested in making gowns that will accommodate everyone; instead they design different collection for individual women."Exquisite Prom Dresses: http://www.exquisitepromdresses.com/ Designer Prom Dresses]
