National Football League guard Derrick Dockery plays for the Washington Redskins.

After playing the 2007 and 2008 seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Dockery signed as a free agent with the Redskins on February 28, 2009. The contract is reportedly worth $26.5 million over five seasons.ESPN.com: Dockery Agrees to $26.5 Million Deal

A high school standout at Lakeview High in Garland, Texas, Dockery opted to play for the Texas Longhorns. At Texas, he was an accomplished lineman, receiving multiple honors and being voted as a consensus all-American in his junior year. He was also a finalist for the Outland Trophy in 2002, awarded to to he top interior lineman in college football.

Dockery declared himself eligible for the NFL draft in 2003 and was chosen by the Washington Redskins in the third round. Making his debut in 2003, Dockery played in all 16 regular season games, starting 13 of those. He went on to play three additional seasons with the Redskins, starting in every game each season. Dockery entered the free agency in 2007 and signed with the Buffalo Bills. He continued as a starter, playing all 32 games over two seasons in Buffalo.
