  • College Football Career

    Brooks began his career playing college football with the Florida State Seminoles in the NCAA. He played at both safety and linebacker, recording 274 tackles, 13 pass deflections, 8.5 sacks, five interceptions, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.   • NFL Career

    After college, Brooks was selected 28th overall in the 1995 NFL draft by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.     Brooks was selected for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2000, for his excellence on and off the field. He went on to earn the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2002, while helping the Buccaneers win Super Bowl XXXVII.
