NHL Career
Roy was drafted 32nd overall in the 2001 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. In 2003, Roy made his NHL debut with the Sabres, but spent much of his first two seasons with the Sabres' American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. He returned to the Sabres after the 2004-05 NHL Lockout and re-signed with the team on July 27, 2007, to a reported $24 million six-year contract.
