After making his NHL debut by playing in four games with the Red Wings in the 2006-07 season, he returned to the Wings in 2007-08, skating in 32 games. Early Hockey Career
Meech began his semi-professional career playing with the Red Deer Rebels in the Western Hockey League, starting in 1999. In his five seasons with the Rebels, his statistically best season came during his last with the team, adding 10 goals and 28 assists. Meech was called up to join the Red Wings' minor league affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League, in 2004.
