Saskatoon native Derek Boogaard is a professional hockey player in the National Hockey League (NHL). He plays left wing for the New York Rangers. Boogaard was selected in the seventh round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft by the Minnesota Wild, and made his NHL debut with Minnesota on October 5, 2005, in a game against the Calgary Flames.
