For the second consecutive year in 2010, the family restaurant chain Denny's will offer their customers the chance to eat their famous Grand Slam meal for free.
Denny's will air three different advertisements during Super Bowl XLIV notifying customers that they will be giving away the Grand Slam meal to all customers that attend one of their locations on Tuesday February 9, 2010 between the hours of 6AM and 2PM local times.http://www.wyff4.com/news/22454874/detail.html
The Grand Slam meal includes two eggs, two strips of bacon, two sausage links, and two pancakes. The company announced that it will also resurrect their promotion to offer a free Grand Slam meal to anyone celebrating a birthday, something they did from when they first introduced the meal on their menu in 1978 until 1995.
In 2009, Denny's first hosted this promotion for free Grand Slam meals on the Tuesday following the Super Bowl, and estimated that nearly two million people took advantage of the free offer. The company claims that they broke even for the day, due to customers purchasing beverages and other meals during the day.http://www.wyff4.com/news/22454874/detail.html
Nelson Marchioli, President and CEO of Denny's, was quoted as saying about the promotion's return that, "...we still see a tough economy for our customers; Denny's wants to hug its customers... we want to give back."
You want free fries with that?
Denny's free Grand Slam promotion is just the tip of the promotional iceberg for 2010. The restaurant hopes to lure customers into their more than 1500 locations with a series of special offers and programs.
Customers can register on their official website between February 1 and February 14 to win one free Grand Slam every week for an entire year. During this same time frame, the first 500,000 that sign up for their new Denny's Rewards program will receive a free burger and fries between March 1st and March 7th.
Also starting on February 7, they will provide free refills of any order of French Fries or pancakes. In addition to the three television ads during the Super Bowl on CBS, print ads will appear in USA Today and extended webisodes will be featured on Denny's Facebook and Twitter pages.
