Dennis O'Neil is an American comic book writer and editor.
Career
Although he is best known for his contributions to DC Comics, O'Neil got his start with Marvel writing stories for the Dr. Strange and Daredevil series.
O'Neil moved to DC in 1968, and wrote for various titles (like Justice League of America, The Creeper and Wonder Woman) in order to help boost sales.
Most comic book fans associate O'Neil with his 1970s work on the Batman series. Along with artist Neal Adams, who he also collaborated with on the critically acclaimed Green Lantern/Green Arrow comics, O'Neil took the Batman character back to its original dark persona, creating more menacing enemies like Ra's Al Ghul to challenge the Dark Knight.
Semi-retired from the comic book scene, O'Neil continues to write for the website ComicMix.
