Seventy three year old actor and director Dennis Hopper was rushed to a New York hospital on September 30, 2009. Early reports on that night stated he was wearing an oxygen mask when he arrived at the hospital in an ambulance. At the end of October 2009, Dennis Hopper was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which was in the advanced stages. In January of 2010, after further medical tests were completed it was revealed that the cancer has spread into his bones.
In late March, Dennis Hopper was unable to continue with the cancer treatments and it was announced that he was terminally ill. May 29, 2010 it was announced that he had died at home surrounded by his family and close friends in Venice, California. Dennis Hopper had turned 74 a few weeks before his death.
